Sweet support from Tampa Bay area Dunkin’ Donuts
Laughs for the Troops is so appreciative of the Tampa Bay area Dunkin’ Donuts / Baskin Robbins stores, managed by Purple Square Management, for their support of our organization and their willingness to share the LFTT’s mission with their customers.
Last month on May 31, in honor of their newest stores opening in the Tampa region, Dunkin’ Donuts donated $1 of sales for every dozen donuts, box of Joe, K-Cup Pack, Coffee by the Pound, and cake sold to Laughs for the Troops. In addition to the sales donation, from May 30 through June 1, the stores gave their customers the opportunity to donate and support LFTT. It was amazing! They raised $6,155!
“We’re just so thankful and humbled that Dunkin’ Donuts/Purple Square Management reached out to us to learn more about our organization and how they could help us,” said Thomas Brown, founder of LFTT and a resident in the Tampa Bay area. “We hope this is the start of a long-standing partnership that helps us bring more laughter and more healing for those who suffer from post traumatic stress and/or traumatic brain injury.”
Brown started the 501-C-3 after his dad, who also suffered from PTS, originally diagnosed as “shell shock,” passed away. He felt compelled to help make a difference, and as a comedian, he read and researched the effects that laughter has on the healing process. He felt like he could help make a big difference in the lives of so many by doing what he loved to do…and with a little help from 100+ of his comedian friends who have supported LFTT throughout the years.
“We had a fantastic fundraiser for Laughs for the Troops,” stated Vik Patel, CEO and owner of Purple Square Management, Co. “Both our team and our patrons were enthusiastic about helping support our military that suffer from post-traumatic stress and/or traumatic brain injuries. The campaign, held the week of Memorial Day, really highlighted that patriotism and spirit of giving back within our community. We were happy to run the campaign, and look forward to partnering again in the future.”
Thanks again to Dunkin’ Donuts and Purple Square Management for the sweet donation!
